Theme: BIG FAKE DEEP FOOT centers on the mythical Bigfoot as the central character of this competition. Bigfoot can be shopping at the mall, sunbathing on a beach, or running for president. No matter what your deep fake of Bigfoot is doing or saying, creators have 5 minutes max to tell their story. The top 15 entries will screen in the Animation District this Labor Day during the Bumbershoot Arts + Music Festival, the winning entry will receive a cash prize of $5,000.00.

About: Magnuson Park Gallery produces 4-6 exhibitions annually, often in collaboration with local organizations and collectives. For our 2025 season, we encourage emerging, unrepresented, and underrepresented artists, collectives, or curators to apply to this open call. If you are submitting work that is not your own (for a group show), you must have permission from the artist to include in your proposal before applying. Applying to this open call is free, and open to artists of all ages.
Medium: We can accept proposals that include 2D and 3D visual media. Artwork must be hang ready (framed or equivalent preparation, with hanging apparatus installed), and artist must be available to drop off/pick their work in person at the agreed upon dates.

Theme: Contaminated water, people living on the streets, the rich host parties while people are dying; social media ingrained into everyday life, showing bombings from across the sea. And we just live our lives, business as usual. People passing one another everyday, communities crumble into individualism. We are living in a mundane dystopia. This show seeks to highlight the many different dystopian realities we are living in and highlighting the absurdity of what has become normal.
What mundane dystopia sticks out to you? We are seeking artworks that express the reality of the world we live in and what we have deemed as normal in everyday life. What makes you question items do we as society keep sweeping under the rug?

Medium: You can propose visual art exhibitions, performances, literary readings, lectures and symposia, screenings, reading groups, debates, sketching and figure drawing, combinations of these formats, and more. You can request funding in set amounts from in-kind (gallery usage only with staff support) up to $7,000.

Theme: “Of Glitter, Honey, and Gold,” seeks to celebrate and appreciate “Fly Girl” culture amongst women of color. This exhibit will explore the decorative nails of the 90s, crimped curls, encrusted rings and décolletage’s adorned in Gold.
Medium: Accepting a range of disciplines from photography, visual arts, painting, sculpture, film, and much more.

CD Art Walk will kick off in September on First Fridays with the goal of exploring the vibrant art scene, strolling through galleries, and immersing yourself in creativity.
